Zen garden proposed at Gorwa UPHC

Vadodara: A proposal to develop a Zen Garden at the Gorwa Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) is among a series of parks-related projects slated to come up before the Vadodara Municipal Corporation's (VMC) standing committee on June 25.The civic body has sought approval to award the work for the Zen Garden to one agency, at an estimated cost of Rs 18.66 lakh.While civic gardens are typically developed in public parks and open spaces, the proposed facility is planned within a health care campus.Apart from the Zen Garden project, a proposal related to the parks and garden department has also been placed before the committee for outsourcing manpower required for maintenance of gardens and green spaces across the city.The proposal seeks approval for a contract worth Rs 11.50 crore, with the contractor quoting rates 3.85% higher than the estimated cost.

The matter earlier came up before the standing committee at its meeting on June 5, but a decision was deferred.
