Terrible Baby x Sora from Rosewood Phnom Penh

Terrible Baby is welcoming Sora from Rosewood Phnom Penh for a one-night-only takeover. Last year, Sora became the first bar in Cambodia to crack Asia’s 50 Best Bars’ 51-100 list – appearing at No 65 – while also winning the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award. The bar is known for marrying Japanese aesthetic precision with local Cambodian produce.
Led by director of bars Jonas Vittur, the pop-up will showcase sophisticated pours that incorporate distinctive regional staples. The Hokusai blends Widges London dry gin, celebrated Kampot pepper and aromatic kaffir lime leaf with genmaicha and umami notes of seaweed, while the Cherry Lady Punch combines cherry (blossom, wine and reduction), Tried & True vodka, dark chocolate, cashew and yogurt.

Friday After Class: The Sundry Takeover

Is it a coincidence or a deliberate strategy that Friday After Class has a special takeover happening this Friday night? Whatever the answer, Hong Kong’s cocktail connoisseurs can look forward to a taste of Bangkok courtesy of Silom-Sathon neighbourhood bar Sundry.
Founder Shaun Ling and head bartender Guide Thuraphan will be slinging drinks, while Sundry’s DJ (and cultural curator) Dookie Panyawai mixes tunes alongside Happy Bara. For those already familiar with Sundry, the takeover promises a sneak peek of drinks from the bar’s forthcoming menu. In the words of the visiting trio, expect “unreleased, experimental creations”.
Sundry’s current menu features a massive 38 signature cocktails (some of which are only available at certain hours of the day in order to mirror the rhythm and flow of life in the Thai capital), so what will be on offer in Hong Kong is anyone’s guess.

Alibi – Wine Dine Be Social x Madara: Shakespeare’s Night

Cordis’ Alibi – Wine Dine Be Social is hosting a literary cocktail experience titled Shakespeare’s Night: She Says. In a one-night-only takeover, Rayven Leung – founder of Madara, a Japanese craft cocktail bar in Causeway Bay, and brand ambassador for Japanese distiller Hombo Shuzo – will present a menu drawing on the maker’s portfolio and inspired by Shakespeare’s heroines.
Leung has crafted four botanical creations blending premium Japanese spirits with literary symbolism. If you miss the opening night, you can still experience a taste of Madara, as the rainbow-hued Ophelia’s Bouquet will remain featured on Alibi’s cocktail list until August 31. The exclusive opening event is priced at HK$680 and limited to just 25 guests.
