Newlywed Woman Dies Just 50 Days After Marriage in Bijnor, Family AllegesDowry MurderHarveer DabasBijnor: A 22-year-old newlywed woman died under suspicious circumstancesjust 50 days after her marriage in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district,prompting allegations of dowry harassment and murder by her her family.

According to police, Sonam, a resident of Shivpuri village in Afzalgarh,had married Tikaram Singh of Chandpur on April 30.

Her family claims that despite giving dowry according to their means, herin-laws were dissatisfied and allegedly subjected her to mental andphysical abuse.Sonam's mother alleged that her husband had beaten her only 15 days afterthe wedding for speaking to her brother-in-law over the phone.

The familyfurther claimed that the harassment continued and that she was eventuallypoisoned to death.According to Chandpur Circle Officer, Desh Deepak Kumar, based on acomplaint filed by Sonam's father, police have registered a case againsther husband and other members of his family under abetting to commitsuicide and dowry Act.

Prima facie it came to fore that woman consumedpoison due to family dispute.

The woman's husband had admitted her to ahospital for treatment where she died.
