British retailers are experiencing a significant surge in sales of summer essentials as consumers prepare for extreme heat.
Electronics giant Currys reported searches for fans soaring by almost 1,500 per cent and air conditioning products by 3,500 per cent compared to the previous weekend.
Homeware specialist Lakeland saw electric fan sales rise over 100 per cent, while John Lewis noted a 557 per cent increase in pizza oven sales and a 200 per cent climb in silk scarf searches.
Supermarket chain Tesco anticipates a 60 per cent increase in ice sales, a 48 per cent rise in ice cream and lollies, and a 44 per cent spike in barbecue meat.
Aldi is predicting a 50 per cent jump in burger sales, a 30 per cent surge in beer, and an 80 per cent week-on-week increase in Lacura Sun Cream sales.
