Britain is preparing for a significant heatwave this week, with temperatures forecast to reach around 37C in some places.
The Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat warning for Monday and Tuesday, covering southern England, parts of Wales, and the Midlands, indicating potential health risks.
The UK Health Security Agency has also issued amber heat health alerts for several English regions, advising the public to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun, and limit strenuous activity.
Forecasters warn that high daytime and overnight temperatures could lead to health issues and disrupt daily life, potentially exceeding the June record of 35.6C set in 1976.
Authorities are urging caution regarding water safety, following 15 deaths in open water during a May heatwave.
