TTD plans third Queue complex to tackle Tirumala rush

Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which administers the iconic Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala, is actively toying with the idea of establishing a third Vaikuntam queue complex to mitigate the woes of the pilgrims waiting in the outside queues every time the pilgrim rush surges on the hill town. With over 2.5 crore devotees visiting Tirumala every year, the hill town literally chokes every time the pilgrim rush spikes abnormally especially during select weekends, festive occasions and during the summer holidays.Though pilgrim rush to Tirumala has remained reasonably under control during the annual Brahmotsavams and Vaikunta Ekadasi festive periods in the recent years, the hill town registers a high devotee turnout during select weekends and summer vacations, stretching the waiting time for Darshan beyond the 24 hours mark, with tens of thousands of devotees, waiting with their families forced to wait in the outside queue lines to even enter the twin Vaikuntam queue complexes.Following the establishment of the integrated command control centre at Tirumala last year, TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary with the support of experts from diverse backgrounds, has been closely analysing the pilgrim footfall patterns, to exactly figure out the accurate timelines linked to pilgrim footfall spike at Tirumala in a calendar year, where the religious events are fixed and uniform every year. The Tirupati trust has figured out that abnormal pilgrim rush has been witnessed at Tirumala anywhere between 120-150 days based on numerous factors every calendar year.

It is during this scattered period that devotees thronging the hill town are forced to wait in serpentine queue lines for inordinate hours even to enter the main Darshan lines.Having closely studied the pilgrim footfall patterns, the Tirupati trust is now contemplating to construct a third Vaikuntam queue complex, which will help the temple trust to mitigate the perennial woes of the devotees thronging the hill town for a Darshan of Lord Venkateswara on peak days.TTD additional EO has held a series of meetings with external experts as well as with the senior officials of the estates and engineering departments to design concrete proposals with regards to establishing a third Q complex at Tirumala near the Narayanagiri gardens-RB centre area at Tirumala.According to Venkaiah Chowdary, once the third queue complex becomes a reality, pilgrims will no longer have to take pains to wait in the outside queues with their families. “They can instead get inside the proposed Vaikuntam-3 queue complex, which will be equipped with all pilgrim amenities including waiting compartments and halls, toilets and get into the Darshan queue lines once their time arrives”, additional EO explained. These proposals are likely to be soon placed before the TTD trust board for its consent, a decision which will once and for all end the culture of serpentine queue lines and inordinate waiting hours at Tirumala. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Vijayawada | Silver Rate in Vijayawada | Bank Holidays in Vijayawada | Public Holidays in Vijayawada | Petrol Price in Vijayawada | Diesel Price in Vijayawada | CNG Price in Vijayawada | LPG Price in VijayawadaStay updated with the latest Vijayawada news.
