President Donald Trump reportedly berated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call last fall over a U.S.-brokered Gaza ceasefire plan.
According to the new book Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, Trump used a “foul-mouthed tirade” to pressure Netanyahu to accept the agreement.
Trump told Netanyahu that “Everybody’s sick of you, Bibi” and warned of “a divorce” between the two allies if he did not comply.
The peace plan was devised by Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner following an Israeli airstrike on a Hamas leader in Doha, Qatar.
Netanyahu ultimately accepted the agreement and apologized for the airstrike, though he later convinced Trump to join Israel in a war with Iran.
