Trump calls defense execs to White House as Pentagon rushes to rebuild weapons stockpiles

Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with munitions makers at the White House to discuss expanding weapons production.

The initiative aims to replenish U.S. stockpiles of air-defense and precision-guided weapons, which have been depleted by military operations, including those in Iran, and supplies to allies.

This marks the second White House gathering with defense firm executives, following a March meeting that included CEOs from major companies like Lockheed Martin and Boeing.

Pentagon negotiators are pushing for faster production, with tentative agreements already in place for companies like Lockheed Martin to triple Patriot interceptor production and RTX to boost Tomahawk and AMRAAM missile output.

Defense executives welcome the push but stress that congressional funding is vital before making heavy investments, while the Senate Armed Services Committee has approved a National Defense Authorization Act that backs multi-year munitions procurement.
