Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey was booed during the early stages of his side’s World Cup clash with England on Tuesday.
Partey has been charged with seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and is awaiting trial in London - he has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He was denied a Canadian visa for Ghana’s opening match against Panama, but was allowed to play in Tuesday’s match against England in Boston.
When Partey touched the ball early on, there were audible boos from the crowd at Boston Stadium.
Partey spent five years at Arsenal between 2020 and 2025 before leaving the join La Liga club Villarreal last year.
