Daltonganj: A 35-year-old man from West Bengal was electrocuted while erecting a tent for a wedding ceremony in Daltonganj on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Tapan Kumar Das, a resident of Kolkata, and worked as a tent house worker.
Das was erecting a pole for the tent in an open plot of land overlooking the house at Sri Ram Path in Redma locality of the town when it touched an 11kV overhead wire.“He was taken to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” a police officer said at the hospital.
Sadar sub-divisional police officer Rajesh Yadav said a probe has been initiated into the incident.Stay updated with the latest Ranchi news.
