Germany secured their place in the World Cup last 32 with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast, having previously thrashed Curacao in their opening match.

Ivory Coast took a surprising lead in the 30th minute when Franck Kessie scored, despite Germany's early pressure which included a disallowed goal.

Germany's manager Julian Nagelsmann made a triple substitution on the hour mark, bringing on Nadiem Amiri, Jamie Leweling, and Deniz Undav to revitalise the team.

Substitute Deniz Undav scored Germany's equaliser in the 68th minute, expertly converting a volley from a cross delivered by fellow substitute Nadiem Amiri.

Undav then secured a last-gasp victory for Germany deep into stoppage time, firing home his second goal from a pass by Felix Nmecha to clinch the 2-1 win.
