Strictly star announces split from husband after nearly eight years of marriage

Professional dancer Alexis Warr, a star of Strictly Come Dancing, has announced her separation from her husband, Jake Burton.

Warr shared the news on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, 23 June, explaining that the decision was made "after much consideration and with the greatest respect for one another."

The couple, who were childhood sweethearts, married in November 2018, and Warr had celebrated their seven-year anniversary last November, referring to Burton as "the absolute love of my life."

She requested "privacy and understanding as we navigate this life change together" from her followers, thanking them for their support.

The announcement comes as Warr prepares to return to the BBC contest this autumn, having joined the professional lineup in 2025 and made it to the final with celebrity partner George Clarke.
