Cinemark has unveiled a new Spider-Man: Brand New Day-themed popcorn bucket, which has raised eyebrows due to its suggestive design.
The popcorn container features a Spider-Man arm topped with a white cone-like bowl and a straw, intended to represent webs, but has been likened to other, NSFW objects by social media users.
“The industry has been intentionally making these popcorn buckets look dirty for publicity ever since the Dune 2 bucket,” one person said, referring to the divisive design that featured a Sandworm mouth as a lid.
The fourth instalment in the Tom Holland-led superhero film series is set to be released in cinemas on 31 July.
Holland and Zendaya reprise their roles as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and MJ, respectively, in the highly anticipated sequel.
