School suspends dining service, asks students to bring lunch from home

Indore: In the wake of the reported illness of more than 100 students after lunch last week, The Shishukunj International School has suspended its dining services until further notice and asked students to bring packed lunch boxes from home. The move came as attendance remained lower than usual on Tuesday, with several concerned parents opting to keep their children away from school.

The school’s mess was sealed by Food department on Monday. In a circular issued to parents, the school management said that its immediate focus had been on thoroughly investigating every possible cause behind the complaints of stomach pain and vomiting.

It stated that no definitive cause had yet been identified.According to the circular, officials from various government departments conducted a comprehensive inspection of the campus, including the RO water purification system and food supplies.

While inspectors found a few packets of pickle masala and sev that had crossed their expiry dates, the school clarified in the circular that these items were never served to the affected students. The school has invited parents to visit the campus without prior notice and inspect hygiene and food preparation facilities themselves.

The investigation into the cause of the students’ illness is continuing. The food samples collected from the school mess have been sent for laboratory analysis. “The samples have been sent for testing and the report is expected to be received in 3-4 days,” said Food Safety Officer Manish Swami. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Indore | Silver Rate in Indore | Bank Holidays in Indore | Public Holidays in Indore | Petrol Price in Indore | Diesel Price in Indore | CNG Price in Indore | LPG Price in IndoreStay updated with the latest Indore news.
