Russian opposition leader jailed over anti-war social media posts

Russian opposition politician Maxim Kruglov has been sentenced to seven years in prison over two Telegram posts he made in 2022 about the Ukraine war.

The deputy leader of the liberal Yabloko party has denied the charges, describing the case as a ban on dissent.
