A significant fire erupted at Thurmaston Shopping Centre in Leicestershire during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Over 40 firefighters and eight fire engines were deployed to tackle the blaze, which caused part of the Mountain Warehouse store's roof to collapse.

Residents in the area were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the large plume of smoke, though the fire has since been extinguished.

While some shops are expected to reopen, Mountain Warehouse, M&S, and Greggs remain closed following the incident.

A cordon is still in place around the affected stores, though the car park has partially reopened.
