RJD criticises Samrat over remarks on Lalu

Patna: RJD functionaries on Tuesday criticised chief minister Samrat Choudhary for his remarks against party president Lalu Prasad, describing them as “orchestrated, baseless, improper and indecent”.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s state office in Patna, state president Mangani Lal Mandal said Lalu remained a “symbol of people’s faith” and a “warrior of social justice”.A day earlier, Samrat had termed Lalu “sabse bada khalnayak” and mocked him and Rabri Devi over their objections to the downgrading of their security cover.Mandal said the security provided to Lalu’s family was not a favour from the govt. “Security is no favour or alms.

Lalu ji’s family is entitled to it as per norms,” he said.

He added that Lalu was a former chief minister, Rabri a former chief minister and leader of opposition in the legislative council, while Tejashwi Prasad Yadav was leader of opposition in the assembly.RJD national chief spokesperson Manoj Kumar Jha described Lalu as a “people’s hero” and accused the state govt of failing to control crime.

Referring to incidents in several districts, he said crimes against women were being reported repeatedly while the govt remained focused on making statements.On police encounters, Jha said, “An encounter is of the truth.

Even if someone is a criminal, investigation is necessary to know his background and associates.
