PPU VC’s surprise visit exposes academic lapses in Nalanda colleges

Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) vice-chancellor (VC) Upendra Prasad Singh continued his surprise inspection drive for the third consecutive day on Wednesday in Nalanda district, aiming to ensure a better academic ambience across constituent colleges while the UG semester IV examinations are underway.During the inspection at Kisan College, Shosarai, principal Divyanshu Kumar, bursar Anand Shankar, while teachers Vijay Kumar and Awadhesh Kumar Dwivedi were found absent from duty.

Taking serious note of the lapses, the VC directed the issuance of show-cause notices to the officials concerned and faculty teachers, seeking their explanations within 24 hours, said PPU registrar Abu Bakar.At Nalanda College, the inspection revealed an unexpected situation where several classrooms were found locked during academic hours.

The VC expressed surprise over the lack of classroom activity and directly interacted with students on campus to understand their academic issues and institutional challenges, he said.He also inspected laboratories, the library and other key infrastructure facilities in both the colleges.
