    Nashik city police appoints additional 200 new traffic wardens

    Nashik: The Nashik city police have appointed 200 new traffic wardens, tripling its existing force from 100 to 300, to ease rising vehicular congestion and preparing the city for large-scale events, particularly the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.Police commissioner Sandeep Karnik addressed the newly inducted wardens, along with 107 recently recruited police constables, at a briefing session on Monday, where he outlined their role in managing both daily traffic challenges and future demands.

    He also stressed the importance of maintaining polite, respectful communication with citizens while ensuring effective law enforcement.Karnik directed the traffic wardens to act as key coordinators at construction sites, while acknowledging ongoing infrastructure and road development works across the city.

    Their primary responsibility will be to regulate vehicular movement in these areas to prevent bottlenecks and ensure smoother traffic flow.The commissioner also underlined that the wardens’ duties go beyond directing traffic.
