Lucknow: A long-running dispute over division of ancestral property turned fatal in a village under Mahigawan police station limits on Saturday, as a man attacked and killed his father with a spade, police said.“The incident took place in Atraura village on Friday.
Ram Kumar Yadav (69) and his son Mahendra Yadav (48) were at odds for long over partition of ancestral land,” said ACP, BKT, Vikas Pandey, adding that according to allegations made by family members, the dispute escalated on Saturday when Mahendra confronted Ram Kumar while the latter was working in his field.
