Man killed after altercation in Gir Somnath

Rajkot: A dinner gathering among friends at Jamwala village in Gir Gadhada taluka of Gir Somnath district took a dark turn after a verbal altercation led to a murder.Mehul Vadvatar’s friends allegedly attacked him with weapons, killing him.

Gir Gadhada police have detained five people.

Vadvatar, 35, had gone to Lakhu Bhoja’s farm on the night of June 22, when the killing took place.The victim’s brother Hitesh, 31, later lodged a complaint stating that he had given drinking water to the gathering late at night and spoke to his brother over the phone afterwards.
