Looking for your phone after waking up? Sadhguru suggests a different morning habitMornings and phones

Mornings and phonesFor many people, mornings are the significant first chapter of their whole day, that decides how the rest of the day is going to be.

While waking up first in the morning, what do all of us generally do?Mornings are mainly occupied for exercises, rejuvenation and being functional.

Addressing this, spiritual leader Sadhguru on X, shared a video explaining what an individual generally does and what an individual should be doing to have a better morning. He enacted an act where youth and sometimes elders too, even before beginning their day with anything else, starts looking for their “phone”.Sadhguru’s playful remark on the word “phone” welcomed applause from the audience.

He was trying to propagate that, phone is not something that one should be using in the morning while starting their day.

Instead one should wake up and then “smile”.Why is a smile essential?“You do one thing.

You get up in the morning and smile”, he said. But here is the interesting question, whom do we smile at? Smiling brings a different kind of satisfaction and peace within oneself.

But without any course of action, how would one smile?Sadhguru addressed the same question, “At whom?” Then he himself went on answering, “Nobody.” He challenged the common perception about happiness and human interactions, explaining, “Smile is not about somebody.”How to smile all by yourself? The remark means, smiling is something that one does when something happens within them, but not for the reason that someone else is associated with you.

You smile, because you want to, you love to.He tried to mean, genuine joy should not depend upon external circumstances or other people.

A smile is an action that is often treated as a social gesture directed towards someone else.

Sadhguru tried to break this notion by deliberately mentioning, “Smile is not about somebody.

Smile happens when this one is feeling in a certain way isn't it?”Smiling should not be dependent upon anyoneHis idea is simple.

Smiling is not fundamentally something we do for another person.

It is a natural expression that arises when we feel pleasant, joyful, peaceful, or content.

This perspective reflects light on the fact that the real source of a smile isn't the external trigger but the internal stage it creates.A smile appears effortlessly when a person feels good from within.

It cannot be manufactured, forced or dependent on another individual’s presence. So according to him, a smile is something that belongs to the person who is experiencing it, not to the object or person that has inspired it.“Smile happens because something is happening within you, not because someone as come in front of you.

So first thing in the morning, you smile.

It takes 20 seconds okay? If you can't smile at somebody who is next to you, just smile.”Supporting his argument, he goes on explaining that smiling is essential so it doesn't matter who you smile, if you can't smile at anyone, you just smile all by yourself, that will help, it barely takes twenty seconds of your life.Get the latest lifestyle news and trends.
