Norway secured their place in the World Cup knockout rounds after a thrilling 3-2 victory against Senegal in their Group I second-round match.

Erling Haaland scored twice in the second half, adding to Marcus Holmgren Pedersen's opener, while Ismaila Sarr netted both goals for Senegal.

Wild overnight celebrations erupted across Norway, with jubilant fans pouring onto the streets of Oslo and marching towards King Harald V's palace, performing a “Viking rowing” celebration.

The Norwegian Royal House issued a statement expressing their joy with the country over the team's victory but declined to comment on whether the King and Queen were disturbed by the festivities.

Norway are now set to face France in their final group match on Friday, with the top spot in the group still up for grabs.
