Jon Snow’s wife Dr Precious Lunga said she felt “anger” at people “writing off” her husband after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
The former Channel 4 news presenter, 78, and the epidemiologist, 51, explore his diagnosis in a new Channel 4 documentary, Jon Snow: A Last Big Story.
The programme shows Snow being told he has the form of dementia following a test. In one scene, Dr Lunga opens up about how she feels Snow’s health has changed.
She added: “When we received a diagnosis, people were writing Jon off, and that's when I realised how stigmatised Alzheimer's is, and it made me so angry actually.
“This is a progressive disease, but you can have Alzheimer's and still will be a valuable member of society to contribute.”
