Brown,” wrote a user when the NFL’s official X account released two photos from DeVonta Smith’s wedding to longtime fiancee Mya Danielle.
The photo featured the beautiful newlyweds couple-posing with Jalen Hurts and his wife Bry “Bryonna” Rivera Burrows.Jalen Hurts chooses DeVonta Smith over A.J.
Brown when it comes to attending weddingsSome bad blood.
Something happened between the then-Philadelphia Eagles WR1, A.J.
Brown, and quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Why else would he choose to go to WR2 DeVonta Smith’s wedding in the same offseason as his WR1’s wedding? The actual reason is unknown.
But the whole of cyberspace has postulated theories about why Hurts did not attend the wedding in 2026.
Neither did he attend Brown’s engagement in 2025.
The closest speculation could be related to his blockbuster trade to the Mike Vrabel-led New England Patriots.
DeVonta Smith will still be playing for the Eagles, so as part of his franchise fraternity, Hurts attended Smith’s wedding.
But when it came to attending Brown’s wedding, which happened when his trade rumors were at their peak, Hurts chose not to.
When press availability came, and a reporter asked him about the A.J.
Brown wedding, Hurts said, “Nothing’s changed since we last spoke at the end of the season.
We’re really good, and I know how beautiful the pictures came out at his wedding.” The quarterback said he is “very happy for him, and his wife, and his family.” He added, “It’s a beautiful thing to step into the Covenant [formal promise], so I was very excited and congratulatory towards that.” But before the questions could affect his franchise, he drank a glass of water: what it would mean to Philadelphia if it traded Brown. “For us, we’re only focused on learning the offense,” Hurts said. “It really doesn’t change in terms of our approach to improve.
There’s an ‘if,’ obviously it’s been a lingering thing, but nothing can replace all of the greatness that we achieved together.” On June 1, 2026, A.J.
Brown was traded to Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots, leaving the WR1 spot empty for DeVonta Smith to occupy.
On the gridiron, A.J.
Brown was Jalen Hurts’ go-to wide receiver.
Followed by DeVonta Smith.
Now the hotspot will be taken over by Smith.
Just like he has over Hurts’ personal life…Did A.J.
Brown attend DeVonta Smith’s wedding?A user took a dig at Brown and complimented Hurts and Smith: “Two husbands that don’t cheat on their wives with a chick who gives massages.
That former Eagle went to the right team for that sh*t.” A user couldn’t believe how Hurts attended Smith’s wedding and skipped Brown’s wedding: “My favorite football team is the most drama filled team I didn’t know -- how the f*ck.”A post read, “Hurts happy as f*ck with them hater blockers on [goggles].
Definitely a slight towards AJ Brown.”A user wondered, “Did AJ Brown get an invite to DeVonta Smith’s wedding?” Yes, he did attend.
ESPN’s Brianna Williams reports that among 135 wedding guests, those in attendance were Jalen Hurts, A.J.
Brown, Jaylen Waddle, Pat Surtain II, Jordan Battle, Jerry Jeudy, Mack Wilson Sr., Nakobe Dean, Jahan Dotson, A.J.
