Hebridean Princess crew member dies after falling from ship in Scotland

A crew member died after falling overboard from the cruise ship Hebridean Princess in Scotland.

The incident occurred last Tuesday, 16 June, while the ship was travelling through the Sound of Mull.

Police Scotland confirmed it received reports of a man’s body having been found in the water near Corran Esplanade in Oban at approximately 8.30pm.

Hebridean Island Cruises, which operates the vessel, said an “immediate response” was initiated on board and HM Coastguard was notified.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
