    Emirates has issued a travel advisory for passengers flying out of Dubai during the peak summer holiday rush, warning of longer wait times at the airport as passenger traffic surges in the coming weeks.The airline has urged travellers to arrive well ahead of their scheduled departure times and take advantage of early check-in options to avoid delays at Dubai International Airport (DXB).Expect heavy crowds at DXBWith schools closing for the summer and thousands of residents heading abroad for holidays, family visits and seasonal breaks, Emirates expects significantly higher passenger volumes at DXB.The advisory comes as Dubai International Airport prepares for another busy travel season.

    Last year, DXB handled 24.2 million passengers between July and September, marking the busiest quarter in the airport's 65-year history.How early should passengers arrive?Emirates has advised passengers to reach the airport at least three hours before departure, while also factoring in possible traffic congestion on roads leading to the airport.Travellers are required to be at their boarding gates at least 60 minutes before departure, as security and immigration procedures may take longer than usual during peak travel periods.The airline also recommends allowing extra travel time when heading to the airport.Dubai Metro suggested to avoid trafficTo bypass road congestion, Emirates has encouraged passengers to use the Dubai Metro, which provides direct access to Emirates Terminal 3.Metro operating hours are:Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 5am to midnightFriday: 5am to 1amSunday: 8am to midnightCheck in before reaching the airportTo reduce waiting times at DXB, Emirates is encouraging travellers to complete as many pre-travel formalities as possible before arriving.Passengers can:Check in online or via the Emirates mobile appSelect seats and complete travel documentation in advanceDrop baggage 24 hours before departure (12 hours for US-bound flights)Use self-service check-in and bag-drop kiosksRegister for Emirates Biometrics through the appOpt for Home Check-In services, where baggage is collected from home, hotel or officeCity check-in facilities availableEmirates customers can also use city check-in facilities located away from the airport.Key options include:Emirates City Check-In Ajman, which operates round the clockEmirates City Check-In and Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place (DIFC), open daily from 8am to 10pm, with operating hours extending to midnight from July 1These facilities allow passengers to check in and drop off luggage several hours before their flight, helping reduce time spent at the airport.Biometric gates and smart travel optionsThe airline has also advised passengers to register for the biometric travel pathway through the Emirates app.

    The system enables eligible travellers to move through designated smart gates more quickly.Passengers are also encouraged to update their contact details under the "Manage Your Booking" section to receive real-time travel notifications and flight updates.Additional services at DXBOnce inside the airport, Emirates passengers can use the complimentary train connecting Concourse B and Concourse A.
