England defender Djed Spence appeared to snub a handshake with Ghana’s Thomas Partey ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup match.
Partey has been charged with seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and is awaiting trial in London next year - he denies all charges.
Partey was denied a Canadian visa for Ghana’s opening match against Panama last week, but was allowed to play in Tuesday’s game in Boston.
Ahead of kick-off, the two sets of players did their customary handshakes, but video footage seemed to show Spence avoiding one with Partey.
Partey was also booed by England fans at Boston Stadium before kick-off and during the match.
