Chennai: DMK legal wing member Saranya Natarajan on Wednesday filed a police complaint against higher education minister P Viswanathan for his alleged inappropriate behaviour with school students in Melur near Madurai recently. The incident happened on June 21 when Viswanathan, while participating in International Yoga Day celebrations and anti-drug awareness programme, touched students “inappropriately”, drawing criticism.Saranya in her complaint to DGP said the “minister was seen touching the legs, shoulders and other body parts of minor girls” participating in the event. “The touch was not incidental or accidental but deliberate and repeated.

Action should be initiated against Viswanathan under POCSO Act,” Saranya said.

She also wanted the minister to resign.Meanwhile, Viswanathan refuted the allegations, saying that DMK was making false charges with a malicious intention. “I helped girl students with first aid who fainted after running a marathon, but DMK is indulging in cheap politics,” Viswanathan said. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Chennai | Silver Rate in Chennai | Bank Holidays in Chennai | Public Holidays in Chennai | Chennai AQI | Weather in Chennai | Petrol Price in Chennai | Diesel Price in Chennai | CNG Price in Chennai | LPG Price in ChennaiStay updated with the latest Chennai news.
