Bhopal: A report submitted by the NEET examination centre in Vidisha to the district administration has claimed that aspirant Ragini Vishwakarma reached the venue at 1.44 pm, 14 minutes after the National Testing Agency prescribed gate-closing time of 1.30 pm.The incident drew nationwide attention after videos of Ragini and her father Umesh Singh Vishwakarma crying outside the centre went viral on social media, with the family claiming that rain and a motorcycle puncture had delayed their arrival. The clarification, submitted by the principal and nodal officer of the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Government Girls PG College examination centre, comes amid controversy over the candidate being denied permission to appear for the examination.According to the report, NTA guidelines were strictly followed at the centre.
Officials said repeated announcements were made before the main gate was closed at 1.30 pm, after which biometric verification of candidates already inside the premises continued until 1.40 pm.The report stated that CCTV footage from the college showed no candidate arriving at the main gate before 1.44 pm.
It also cited footage from a traffic surveillance camera near Idgah Square showing Ragini travelling with her father on a motorcycle at 1.40.23 pm.
Officials said it would have taken approximately four more minutes to reach the examination centre from that location. The centre administration further said NTA rules permit biometric-related relaxation only for candidates who enter the examination premises before the gate-closing time but face technical issues during verification.
Since the candidate allegedly arrived after the deadline, she could not be allowed to appear for the examination.Officials maintained that the examination centre followed all NTA guidelines and submitted CCTV screenshots and videography records from 1.30 pm to 2 pm to support its version of events. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Bhopal | Silver Rate in Bhopal | Bank Holidays in Bhopal | Public Holidays in Bhopal | Petrol Price in Bhopal | Diesel Price in Bhopal | CNG Price in Bhopal | LPG Price in BhopalStay updated with the latest Bhopal news.
