Bhopal: Ending months of anticipation within the party organisation, the BJP on Tuesday announced its new state executive committee, paving the way for the first state working committee meeting under state president Hemant Khandelwal.The state executive is considered one of the most important organisational exercises in the BJP.
Under party norms, such meetings are expected to be held every three months.Announcing the new team, BJP state general secretary Rahul Kothari said the state executive, permanent invitees and special invitees were appointed in accordance with directions from the party’s national leadership.
The 106-member executive was constituted as per the BJP constitution.According to the party, women have been given 33% representation in the new body.
The executive also includes representatives from different social groups, regions and communities, with what the party described as adequate representation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, minorities and Other Backward Classes.Kothari said a separate list of special invitees has been prepared to benefit from the guidance of senior leaders.
Divisional in-charges, district in-charges, morcha presidents and state conveners of various cells have also been included among the special invitees.The BJP has tentatively decided to hold the first meeting of the new state working committee in Orchha around July 15.
