Kochi: A birthday celebration ended in tragedy when two young men were killed after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into a roadside post near Athani traffic signal junction at Nedumbassery on Wednesday morning.Police identified the deceased as Aswin V S, 24, of Arattupuzha, Thrissur and Gokul Krishna, 27, also from Thrissur.According to police sources, the accident occurred around 7.15am while the two were returning after celebrating Gokul’s birthday.
Gokul, who was riding the motorcycle, is learned to have lost control of the vehicle while attempting to overtake another vehicle, causing the bike to ram a post adjacent to the median.Both sustained severe head injuries and were declared brought dead at Aluva taluk hospital.
