Bhagyashree: Yoga taught me to stay calm during challenging times

Yoga entered actress Bhagyashree’s life at a stage marked by emotional and physical upheaval.

What started as a way to stay active gradually became a practice that helps her navigate demanding schedules, public scrutiny and everyday challenges with greater balance.

She shares, “My introduction to yoga happened quite late, though at a very important stage of life, perimenopause, where emotions and your body go through so much upheaval.

Initially, I saw it as a way to stay active and healthy, but as I continued practising, I realised its benefits went much deeper.

Yoga has taught me to become more aware of myself, stay calm during challenging times, and appreciate the importance of balance in everyday life.

I feel more balanced today.”That understanding has shaped a simple routine she follows every morning.

She says, “Before starting my day, I usually spend a few minutes doing basic stretches and pranayama, especially Anulom Vilom and deep breathing exercises.

They help me relax my mind, improve my focus, and begin the day with a positive mindset.

For me, it’s less about perfection and more about showing up for myself every day.”The actress believes yoga offers stability amid demanding schedules and constant scrutiny.

She says, “For me, yoga is not a trend; it’s a way of maintaining balance in life.

The entertainment industry comes with its own set of pressures and unpredictable schedules.

Yoga helps me reconnect with myself amid all that.

It gives me mental clarity and physical strength.

Over the years, I’ve realised that taking care of your inner well-being is just as important as taking care of your appearance.”She also feels misconceptions prevent many people from trying yoga.

She explains, “One of the biggest myths is that you need to be flexible or fit to start yoga.

The truth is, yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

It is not just about physical postures; yoga supports mental and emotional well-being too.

Even 10 to 15 minutes a day can have a positive impact.

Start small, be patient and experience the benefits first-hand rather than feel intimidated by it.”As an actor, she has also found breathing techniques useful while performing. “Breath control is extremely important.

It helps you ease your way through lengthy lines.

When your breathing is steady, your performance naturally becomes more controlled and effective,” she concludes.Read the latest Entertainment News and Celebrity updates.
