The heirs of the late Silvio Berlusconi have reportedly agreed to sell his Sardinian retreat, Villa Certosa, to a company linked to Qatar's ruling family.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani's Constellation Hotels Holding Ltd reportedly paid approximately €350 million for the extensive estate on Sardinia's exclusive Costa Smeralda.
Fininvest, the Berlusconi family holding, confirmed that one of its companies had accepted a binding offer from a foreign entity for the sale of Villa Certosa.
The villa is famed for its celebrity guests, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as Berlusconi's 'bunga bunga' parties.
Spanning around 120 hectares, the property features 126 rooms, swimming pools, an amphitheatre, a vast cactus collection, a mock volcano, and a discreet underground grotto.
