Udupi: A tourist from Bengaluru drowned while swimming at a beach in Kodi in Udupi district.
The deceased is Nikhil Kumar M,31,According to police, the complainant, Rohith,29, of Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, had travelled to Udupi with his friend Nikhil Kumar M and a group of friends on Thursday.
The group checked into a homestay at Kodi Hosabengre.On Friday morning, the group went to Kodi Beach for a swim.
During the outing, Nikhil Kumar reportedly ventured too far into the sea in excitement.
As the sea became rough and the water level rose, he was unable to swim back and got into distress.
He drowned and was later declared dead.Kota police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the BNSS and an investigation is ongoing.Stay updated with the latest Mangaluru news.
