Agra: The Supreme Court-appointed management committee of the Banke Bihari temple has intensified efforts to promote digital donations, with online contributions now accounting for nearly 20% of the offerings received by the shrine, according to temple officials.As part of the initiative, QR codes linked to the temple’s State Bank of India (SBI) account have been displayed on donation boxes across the premises, while security personnel are encouraging devotees to make contributions through digital payment platforms.To further facilitate online donations, the temple management has installed a SBI donation machine at the temple office and is preparing to install another within the temple premises.
The committee also plans to put up notices urging devotees to opt for digital contributions.Committee member Mukesh Mishra said the initiative was aimed at making donations more convenient and transparent. “For the convenience of devotees, SBI has provided us with this machine.
We are identifying a suitable location within the temple premises to install another one.
QR codes have been placed near donation boxes for several years, and new donation boxes will also carry QR codes as part of the digital donation drive,” he said.In addition to donation boxes, digital payment options have been integrated with the temple’s online streaming platforms.
Officials said devotees making donations through the machine receive an official receipt.
