Director Chidambaram has returned with 'Balan: The Boy,' his first feature release after the blockbuster success of the Soubin Shahir starrer survival thriller 'Manjummel Boys'.

However, the makers have yet to announce an official streaming date.'Balan' box office updateThe film registered healthy growth on its second day at the box office.
According to trade estimates from Sacnilk, 'Balan: The Boy' collected Rs 2.35 crore net in India on Saturday.The figure was higher than the Rs 1.82 crore net earned on its opening day.
This translates to a growth of 29.1 percent.
The thriller was screened across 1,208 shows during the day.
TAfter two days in theatres, 'Balan: The Boy' has crossed the Rs 4 crore milestone in domestic net collections.
The film's total India net earnings now stand at Rs 4.17 crore.Its India gross collection has climbed to Rs 4.83 crore.
The film recorded an overall occupancy of 38.3 percent on Day 2, compared to 28.7 percent on the opening day.The Malayalam version performed particularly well.
It posted an overall occupancy of 42.83 percent.
Morning shows recorded 22.50 percent occupancy, while afternoon shows improved to 35.50 percent.Adisheshan’s performance receives appreciationETimes awarded the film a three-star rating.
Its review stated, "The first half is captivating, driven by a novel idea, layered storytelling and excellent performances, particularly from the adorable child actor Adhisheshan KR, who carries the titular role with remarkable ease.
