Vijayawada: As part of digital learning initiative, Andhra Pradesh has become the first state to provide statewide access to Canva for education, a digital platform, for all government school students, teachers and education department officials. The school education department and Samagra Shiksha signed a partnership with Canva, a global visual communication and design platform, to offer the premium educational version free of cost across government schools.
The initiative is aimed at equipping students with digital, communication, design-thinking and problem-solving skills needed for future careers.Under the programme, students will be able to create presentations, infographics, videos, graphics and project-based learning content using Canva’s tools.
The state government plans to integrate the platform with its flagship Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh (LEAP) app, Google Workspace ecosystem and Chromebooks being deployed in schools, subject to technical feasibility.Teachers will be trained in phases through a Training of Trainers model, while the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will develop Telugu and English templates aligned with the state curriculum and foundational literacy and numeracy goals.HRD, IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh said the initiative would help bridge the digital divide by making world-class learning tools available to government school students. “Our vision is not merely to create technology users but to nurture creators, innovators and global problem-solvers,” he said.Officials said the platform includes privacy safeguards, teacher-controlled AI features and role-based permissions to ensure student safety.
The rollout will be implemented in four phases, beginning with statewide onboarding and account provisioning, followed by teacher training, classroom adoption and full-scale implementation. The government said the initiative is expected to benefit lakhs of students and teachers and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s push towards technology-enabled education and future-ready learning. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Vijayawada | Silver Rate in Vijayawada | Bank Holidays in Vijayawada | Public Holidays in Vijayawada | Petrol Price in Vijayawada | Diesel Price in Vijayawada | CNG Price in Vijayawada | LPG Price in VijayawadaStay updated with the latest Vijayawada news.
