Play at Wimbledon qualifying in Roehampton was suspended on Wednesday amid extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 33C in south-west London.
The suspension occurred amid a rare red weather warning for extreme heat across large parts of the UK, with record-breaking temperatures of 40C expected.
Wimbledon has a heat rule in place, allowing players a 10-minute break if the heat stress index reaches or exceeds 30.1C.
Britain's Dan Evans was among the players affected by the suspension, having just lost the first set of his match.
The Met Office alert for severe heat, which poses a danger to life, is in place for many parts of the UK until Thursday, with warnings to stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm.
