Summer is upon us, and this weekend is full of activities to draw you out of your home, from a cooling wellness treat at Soho House to a Wan Chai wine bar that has been repurposed as a thrift shop.
Looking for a little nostalgia hit? Reunite with Woody and friends by catching Pixar’s newest hit, Toy Story 5, at cinemas. For something a little more raucous, check out a Battle of the Bands competition in Central.
Here are five of the best things to do in Hong Kong this weekend.
1. Breathwork, ice bath and functional mushroom tasting
Hong Kong-based supplement brand Shroommate is hosting an immersive wellness experience at Soho House Hong Kong on June 28, 2026, from 10am.
Participants will be led through a breathwork session to relieve stress, provided with an ice bath for mental resilience and offered samples of mushroom coffee and tea.
This wellness experience is for beginners to experts. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot for HK$350 (US$45) earlier rather than later. For more information, click here.

2. Pici’s 10th anniversary
Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars season one winner Kwon Sung-jun – better known as Napoli Matfia – is in town to help celebrate 10 years of Pici with a guest chef dinner on June 26 and 27.
Look forward to a menu that features dishes such as bone marrow Wagyu tartare, ravioli galbi-jjim and chestnut tiramisu.
The three-course meal (HK$258 for one/HK$488 for two) will take 75 to 90 minutes. Book your table here. A non-refundable deposit is taken at the time of booking.

3. The Aftermath’s Battle of the Bands Finals 2026
June 27 sees the return of The Aftermath’s annual Battle of the Bands competition.
From 7pm, the Central music venue will be hosting four of Hong Kong’s most exciting new acts to determine a new champion. The winner of the 2025 competition, the post-punk band Houseplants, will also take to the stage.
Audience members will be encouraged to take part in the voting process to decide the winner.
Tickets are HK$180 in advance and HK$250 at the door. Entry comes with one free drink. For more information, click here.

4. Thrift & Sip – The Loop Wear x Corks Wan Chai
Enjoy artisanal wine while thrifting for sustainable clothes at this pop-up collaboration between vintage fashion organisation The Loop Wear and Wan Chai wine bar Corks this Sunday, June 28, at 2pm.
The Loop Wear specialises in recycled and second-hand fashion, and this event is a great way to explore the company’s entire collection.
Attendees can also sample different wines from Corks’ collection, with a happy hour that runs until 7pm.
Entry is free with RSVP. For more information, click here.
G/F, Shop G10, 183 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai
5. Toy Story 5
For the past three decades, Pixar’s Toy Story franchise has used state-of-the-art animation to remind us of the simple pleasures of old-fashioned play – a nifty bit of mental gymnastics that works because the films are so lovingly crafted.
After a near-perfect original trilogy and an unnecessary yet enjoyable part four, this latest instalment is a rather tardy warning about the encroaching evils of technology.
The focus of Toy Story 5 is on Jessie the cowgirl (voiced by Joan Cusack), who is desperate to help her lonely eight-year-old owner Bonnie (Scarlett Spears) make friends.
When Bonnie’s parents buy her a frog-shaped tablet called Lilypad (Greta Lee), “Lily” quickly takes over her life – and her toy collection – leaving Jessie and her horse Bullseye out in the cold. Read our full review.
