JAMMU: At least 23 pilgrims were injured when a minibus skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Wednesday, official sources said.The pilgrims from Goran and Sumb villages in Samba district were travelling in a minibus to the Mata Sukrala Devi Temple in Billawar when the accident occurred near Dingi Simbli on the Dhar Road.Police sources said the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll down into a deep gorge.Locals rushed to the spot and alerted the police, following which a rescue operation was launched.
All the injured were evacuated and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.Four of the 23 injured were reported to be in critical condition, sources said.Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.Stay updated with the latest Jammu news.
