    Bhopal: A 19-year-old college student died allegedly after being hit by a speeding SUV near Kharpi junction under Ratibad police station limits on Monday evening.

    The impact of the collision was so severe that the victim was thrown several feet away, while the SUV overturned in a nearby field.Police registered a case against the driver of the SUV, identified as Ankit, on the complaint of the victim’s maternal uncle.Police said Aryan Maran, 19, a resident of Kharpi village, was pursuing his studies at a private college in Ratibad.Police said that around 6 pm on Monday, Aryan was heading towards Sikandarabad with his friends Manish Maran and Abhishek Maran to go to a gym.

    Near Kharpi junction on Fanda Road, opposite Rasulia Gosai village, the three stopped by the roadside.At that moment, the SUV, coming from the Sikandarabad side, allegedly hit Aryan while being driven at high speed and in a rash manner.Aryan was initially rushed to a private hospital, where doctors advised that he be shifted to another facility after conducting an ECG.

    He was then taken to Smart City Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.The incident was witnessed by his friends and several passersby, police said.
